Watertown, MA

LEI has completed the project for the United States Army Corps of Engineers which included the repair of two different areas along the waterfront at the Watertown Yacht Club, on the former Army Technology Laboratory Superfund Site. The first area of concern was a 150 ft. long section of cinderblock stub retaining wall which was replaced with new galvanized steel sheeting and backfilled. The second area of concern was 42 ft. of a granite block wall which was resting and failing on rotting timbers. The retaining wall section was dismantled and reconstructed using new blocks and existing blocks along with the installation of a new concrete cap. Special care was taken throughout the project as to not disturb the PAH contaminated soil.
