Slason Bridge Approach Improvements

South Londonderry, VT

The Winhall Brook Camping Area in South Londonderry, Vermont, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is enhancing access for larger recreational vehicles (RVs) and campers. Currently, access to the campground's south side requires crossing a narrow, one-lane bridge with a vehicle length limit of 42 feet and a weight limit of 16 tons, which restricts larger RVs from entering this area.

To address this limitation, the project involves relocating a wall to widen the entrance, allowing larger campers to navigate the bridge safely and access the south side of the camping area. This improvement aims to enhance the camping experience by accommodating a broader range of RV sizes and providing greater flexibility for visitors.

The USACE is overseeing this project, ensuring that the modifications align with safety standards and environmental considerations. By improving access, the Winhall Brook Camping Area continues to uphold its commitment to offering inclusive and enjoyable recreational opportunities for all visitors.
