Wessagusset Beach Walk

Weymouth, MA

Luciano's Excavation Inc. is proud to be part of the transformative Wessagusset Beach Walk Project, a significant initiative under the guidance of the Town of Weymouth with funding from the Seaport Economic Council Program. This $7.3 million endeavor aims to enhance the coastal landscape of North Weymouth by improving pedestrian access and stabilizing the coastal embankment along a 1,000-foot stretch between Wessagusset Beach and George Lane Beach.

Our role involves extensive coastal engineering, including the reinforcement of existing revetments to prevent embankment failures and the construction of a new scenic walkway. This walkway will provide a safe and picturesque route along the coast, complemented by ecological restoration efforts such as debris removal, beach reshaping to restore natural profiles, and replacing invasive plant species with native vegetation to enrich local biodiversity.

Key phases of the project include mobilization, demolition, vegetation clearing, and comprehensive revetment and beach access improvements, aiming for substantial completion by Memorial Day 2025. This project not only aims to protect the area from coastal erosion but also enhances community connectivity and recreational access, making North Weymouth's coastline a more inviting and sustainable environment for residents and visitors alike.
